How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Know How Resourcing are proud to represent our growing engineering client in Washington. They are looking for a Press Brake Operator to join their team on a permanent basis.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    * Manage the running of the CNC Press Brake independently

    * Responsible for organising the shifts workload efficiently to ensure time frames are hit

    * Organise the shop floor to ensure streamline production

    * Ensure bend quality is consistent and within company tolerance

    * Conducting quality checks to ensure the above

    * Monitor and maintain company procedures with regards to quality and expectation including;

    * checking the condition of parts prior to bending, using a calibrated vernier to do full dimension check of the first off part and abide by job specific tolerances

    * Checking part against customer drawing including handing etc, general quality check of the part i.e. cracking/ flaring/ scratches/ etching/ cut through details falling into bend

    * Accurate recording of job cards and other paperwork

    * Ensure following company policy producing re make cards/ filing them in designated area

    * Precise communication at all times with production managers with regards to any issues whilst on shift which could include but not limited to remakes, material or part quality, issues with material identification, time allocation on jobs etc

    * Ensure press tooling is identified/ maintained and recorded accurately

    * At times will be required to complete the Daily check list but only when requested by production managers

    * Maintaining the CNC press brake and shop floor equipment

    * Carrying out weekly maintenance and cleaning of the press brake and tooling

    * Keeping the shopfloor area around the press brakes and racks clean/tidy and free from hazards

    * Ensure safe use of equipment and machinery to avoid accidents to the operator / damage to the item

    * Ensuring all goods are batched, packaged securely and stored correctly in allocated areas

    * Delivery of goods when required

    Expectations

    * Ensuring safety procedures are adhered to

    * Ensure working in accordance with ISO procedures

    * Report any health and safety concerns within the premises/ machinery to senior management

    * Ensure working in accordance with company policy and procedures and guaranteeing a safe clean working environment

    * Always using PPE provided

    * Working 2-week rotating shift patterns

    £31500.00 - £33000.00 per year
