How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    EHCP Officer Remote working

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented EHCP Officer to join a busy SEND service. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with knowledge of SEND legislation and the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process to support children and young people in achieving positive educational outcomes.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of EHCPs, ensuring plans are accurate, compliant with statutory requirements, and reflective of the individual needs of children and young people. You will work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to coordinate information, develop high-quality plans, and support decision-making processes.

    Key Responsibilities

Review, analyse and reconcile information received from families, educational settings, health professionals, social care practitioners and other stakeholders.

Address discrepancies and inconsistencies within assessment reports and supporting documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy and coherence.

Manage an allocated caseload of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Draft high-quality EHCPs that clearly identify a child or young person's needs, desired outcomes, and the provision required to meet those needs.

Ensure all EHCPs comply with statutory guidance, the SEND Code of Practice, and local authority procedures.

Undertake annual reviews, amendments and cessations of EHCPs in a timely manner.

Ensure plans remain up to date, relevant, and responsive to the changing needs and circumstances of children and young people.

Prepare detailed reports, case summaries and recommendations to support decision-making panels, tribunals and service planning activities.

Maintain accurate records and case management information in line with service standards and data protection requirements.

Build effective working relationships with families, schools, educational providers, health professionals and social care teams.

Support the delivery of statutory SEND duties and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

    Essential Requirements

Experience of working within SEND services, EHCP coordination, SEND casework, education, social care, or a related field.

Good understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.

Experience drafting, reviewing or coordinating Education, Health and Care Plans.

Ability to analyse complex information from multiple sources and produce clear, accurate documentation.

Excellent report-writing and written communication skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and statutory deadlines.

Experience working collaboratively with families and multi-agency professionals.

High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

    Desirable Requirements

    Previous Local Authority SEND experience.

Experience preparing documentation for SEND panels or tribunal proceedings.

Knowledge of education, health and social care systems and processes.

Experience using SEND case management systems.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring children and young people with SEND receive the support and provision they need to thrive. You will join a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred services and improving outcomes for children, young people and their families.

If you have the knowledge, attention to detail and commitment required to deliver high-quality EHCP casework, we would welcome your application
