How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Computer Science Teacher – Derby, DE1

    Location: Derby, DE1

    Contract Type: Full Time / Temp to Perm

    Start Date: September 2026

    Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

    Experience: Minimum 6 months' teaching experience in a UK secondary school

    Overview

    Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated Computer Science Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver the KS3 & KS4 Computer Science curriculum

    * Plan, prepare, and assess engaging Computer Science lessons in line with department policy

    * Support students in developing their understanding of programming, computational thinking, and digital technologies

    * Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions to raise attainment

    * Contribute to department improvement planning and curriculum development

    * Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and parents' evenings as required

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching experience in a UK secondary setting

    * Holds relevant qualifications in Computer Science, ICT, or a related subject (desirable)

    * Is passionate about technology, computing, and student achievement

    * Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills

    * Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to wider school life

    * Can inspire students to develop confidence and enthusiasm for Computer Science
