How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisors Needed in Stoke-on-Trent

    Blythe Bridge High School/John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust

    Start Date: As soon as possible

    Salary: £82.62 - £95.43 per day (may be negotiable depending on experience)

    Are you passionate about working with young people? Do you have experience leading and managing groups of children or teenagers? Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience that could support a future career in teaching? If so, we would love to hear from you!

    We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to join the team at Blythe Bridge High School in Stoke-on-Trent. We welcome applications from experienced Cover Supervisors as well as individuals with transferable skills and experience, such as sports coaches, youth workers, teaching assistants, mentors, and community leaders.

    As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

    Supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher.
    Ensuring students complete the work that has been set and remain focused on their learning.
    Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
    Supporting students with their work and providing guidance where appropriate.
    Reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant members of staff.
    Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
    Assisting with general classroom activities as required.

    Requirements:

    Experience: Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.

    Enhanced DBS: Registered on the Update Service, or willing to apply for one.

    Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and behaviour management skills.

    Adaptability: Ability to work confidently across different subjects and classroom environments.

    Attitude: A positive, proactive approach and a genuine commitment to supporting students' learning and development.
