How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Responsibilities

    Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive new product and programme introduction, and deliver operational improvements through method and manufacturing enhancements.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for championing continuous improvement across the business and supporting the full product lifecycle from introduction through to operational delivery.

    You will:

    *

    Drive continuous improvement throughout the business and embed it as part of the day-to-day culture

    *

    Introduce and embed new methods of manufacturing to deliver sustainable benefit to the business

    *

    Establish and maintain system policies associated with lead times for product

    *

    Ensure WIP is managed effectively to meet all business requirements

    *

    Support manufacturing activities both internally and externally

    *

    Act as focal point for ensuring production and new product introduction is completed as required

    *

    Participate in and lead lean initiatives

    *

    Support inventory policies including FIFO inventory, returnable containers, and WIP reduction

    *

    Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, following guidelines in accordance with Company policy and legislative requirements

    *

    Work in accordance with the company's policies and goals to ensure achievement of company objectives

    Successful Applicants Must Be Able to Demonstrate

    *

    Technical knowledge of the latest manufacturing methods and machine tools

    *

    Technical ability to challenge the norm and drive innovation

    *

    Working knowledge of materials management theories, processes and practices

    *

    Ability to work effectively in a team at all levels with customers and company personnel

    *

    Knowledge of CAD/CAM programming to enable successful introduction of manufacturing plans

    *

    Leadership behaviour enabling teams to adhere to planning and operations processes

    *

    Knowledge of the aerospace industry (desirable but not essential)

    *

    Demonstrable experience as a change champion and driver of new working methods

    *

    Strong Microsoft Office skills
