How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Primary SEND TA
    Area: Oldham, Manchester
    Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2026
    Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time
    Salary: £525 - £700 per week (depending on experience)
    Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

    We are partnering with a specialist SEND school in Oldham that places each child's growth and potential at the centre of everything it does. Here, learning is a journey shaped around each pupil's strengths and needs. Younger children thrive through sensory activities, imaginative play, and creative exploration, building early communication, confidence, and social skills. As pupils grow, they take part in practical, hands-on learning experiences that combine skill-building with emotional support, helping them become more independent, resilient, and confident. At this school, success is about more than academic milestones - it's about nurturing the whole child and celebrating every step of progress.

    About the role as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:

    Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs and EHCPs
    * Support learners working at early developmental stages, including sensory and play‑based interaction
    * Assist the class teacher with adapted lesson delivery, behavioural regulation and personalised interventions
    * Promote emotional regulation, independence and consistent routines
    * Work collaboratively with the wider support team, including therapists and SEND leadsWhat We're Looking For from a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant:

    Experience supporting children with SEND, PMLD or SEMH (school or care setting)
    * Confidence supporting children working significantly below age-related expectations
    * A calm, compassionate and resilient approach
    * Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively
