How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Psychology Graduate – Primary SEND School

    Location: Manchester

    Working Hours: 08:30 am - 3:30 pm

    Salary: £95-£105 per day

Are you a Psychology Graduate eager to apply your knowledge of child development and build a rewarding career in primary education? Whether you aspire to become an Educational Psychologist, Child Therapist, or Primary Teacher, working as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) primary setting is the perfect foundation to develop your skills and gain invaluable, hands-on experience.

We are currently recruiting a passionate and proactive Psychology Graduate to join a vibrant, welcoming Special Needs Primary School in Manchester. This long-term opportunity begins in Sept 2026 and offers the chance to make a genuine impact on the early development and lives of children aged 4–11 with a range of learning difficulties.

Your Role as a Primary Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

As an LSA, you will provide critical support to young pupils and teaching staff during these vital early years of education.

In terms of Tailored Early Support, you will assist in the delivery of personalised primary teaching, working with young pupils individually or in small groups to build foundational literacy, numeracy, and life skills.

Your role will also involve Play and Sensory Work, where you will lead and support pupils in sensory-integrated activities and play-based learning that promote engagement and physical development.

For Creative Resource Preparation, you will help to prepare colourful, engaging, and accessible resources and materials that bring the primary curriculum to life for SEND learners.

Feedback and Communication will be an important daily responsibility, as you provide insightful feedback to class teachers and parents about a child’s progress, milestones, and engagement.

Finally, you will deliver Specialist Primary Support by working closely with young children who have Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and speech and language needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.

What Makes a Great Psychology Graduate LSA?

Successful LSAs bring a combination of enthusiasm, compassion, and adaptability to the primary classroom.

Empathy and Nurture are essential, meaning you should bring a caring approach with the ability to connect with young children and support their unique emotional and developmental needs.

Flexibility is key, as you must be willing to adapt your style to suit different primary learning levels and varying emotional or behavioural needs.

Strong Communication Skills are required to build trust and rapport with young pupils, school staff, and families alike.

You will also need Resilience, demonstrating the ability to remain calm, patient, and positive, keeping the classroom a safe and happy environment even during challenging moments.

Most importantly, you must have a Commitment to Early Development, showing a genuine passion for working with primary-aged children with SEND and a desire to make a difference during their formative years.
