How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client is a highly respected, technically advanced manufacturer of specialist glass and double glazed sealed units, supplying trade, commercial, and high‑performance markets. With continued investment in automation, quality systems, and production capability, we are now seeking a Managing Director to lead the next phase of operational excellence and strategic growth.

    The Opportunity

    As Managing Director, you will take full responsibility for all day- to - day functions across the business, ensuring operational efficiency, commercial performance, and a culture of continuous improvement. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who understands the unique demands of glass processing and sealed unit manufacturing within high volume quality critical production environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Operational leadership — The Managing Director will oversee all production, processing, quality, logistics, and commercial functions

    *

    Strategic planning — Drive business performance, efficiency, and long‑term growth

    *

    Manufacturing excellence — Ensure consistent output, product quality, and compliance with industry standards

    *

    Team leadership — Lead, mentor, and develop management teams across operations and support functions

    *

    Customer & commercial oversight — Maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers

    *

    Financial control — Manage budgets, cost control, forecasting, and profitability

    *

    Continuous improvement — Champion lean processes, automation, and operational innovation

    About You

    The Managing Director will be an experienced senior leader with a proven track record in glass processing, sealed unit manufacturing in the fenestratiion or independant sectors.

    Essential Experience

    *

    Operations management within glass, IGU, or fenestration manufacturing

    *

    Strong understanding of toughening, cutting, CNC processing, IGU lines, and quality systems

    *

    Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams in a fast‑paced production environment

    *

    Commercial awareness and confidence making strategic decisions

    *

    A leadership style that is structured, decisive, and people‑focused
