How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Internal Sales Engineer

    Competitive salary of £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
    Company pension scheme
Comprehensive in-house product and software training
Two week-long training visits to the group's headquarters in Europe
Clear progression path toward senior technical sales or sales office management
A stable, long-established team in a specialist sector with strong long-term prospects
    About the Internal Sales Engineer

Our client is a well-established, Warwick-based specialist in gas pressure control, metering and energy infrastructure, part of a global group with over 80 years of heritage and operations across more than 100 countries. Their products are trusted by utilities, gas networks and industrial clients across the UK and Ireland.

Based at their Warwick office, you'll sit at the heart of the technical sales operation, preparing detailed quotations and proposals for customers across the UK gas sector. This is an internal, reactive role with no cold calling, no commission chasing. Enquiries come in from procurement teams, engineers and utilities companies; your job is to assess what's needed, size the right equipment, select the correct part numbers and deliver a competitive, accurate proposal on time.

What You'll be Doing as an Internal Sales Engineer

    Supporting full internal sales process
Preparing quotations for pressure control and metering equipment, spares and bespoke solutions
Liaising with customers, suppliers and colleagues to gather the technical and commercial detail you need
Sizing equipment and identifying the right products for each enquiry using online calculation tools
Ensuring all proposals comply with company standards and contractual requirements
Building your knowledge of the UK gas utilities supply chain and the product portfolio
Occasionally supporting the external sales team with customer-facing activity

The Internal Sales Engineer We're Looking For Will Have

An engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification (or solid, relevant hands-on experience)
Some background in technical sales, proposals or an internal sales engineer environment (strong graduates also considered)
Technically curious and methodical: you enjoy understanding how things work, not just selling them
Confident with MS Office; experience with Sage 200 is a bonus but not essential
Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
A valid passport as there will be training visits to the group's European head office
Key Words: Internal Sales Engineer, Engineering, Gas Supply, Proposals Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Internal Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Sales Advisor, Pre-Sales Engineer
