How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary Teacher (QTS)

    Location: Derby
    Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities Available
    Contract: Long-Term and Permanent Positions
    Salary: £140 - £220 per day (dependent on experience)
    Start Date: September 2025

    Empowering Learning are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teachers to work within a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Derby.

    We are seeking passionate educators who can inspire young learners, create engaging learning environments, and make a positive impact on pupils' academic and personal development. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we would love to hear from you.

    The Role

    As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that engage and challenge pupils while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Opportunities are available across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum
    * Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
    * Create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment
    * Monitor, assess and record pupil progress effectively
    * Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
    * Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development
    * Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
    * Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs and senior leaders
    * Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
    * Experience teaching within a primary school setting
    * Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
    * Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
    * The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual pupil needs
    * Outstanding communication and organisational skills
    * A positive, proactive and flexible approach to teaching
    * A genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential

    Essential Requirements:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    * Experience teaching within EYFS, KS1 or KS2
    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
    * Right to work in the UK
    * Ability to provide references covering the last two years
