How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Engineering Geologist - Wolverhampton

    Salary: £28,000 - £35,000

    A respected and long-established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy is seeking an ambitious Engineering Geologist to join its growing team in Wolverhampton. Working across a diverse range of development and infrastructure projects, this is an excellent opportunity for an Engineering Geologist looking to gain hands-on experience within a specialist consultancy known for delivering high-quality, pragmatic solutions throughout the UK.

    The successful Engineering Geologist will support a variety of geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigations, working on projects from initial desk studies through to site works, testing, monitoring and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assisting with ground investigations and site inspections

    Logging soil and rock samples and interpreting ground conditions

    Supporting geotechnical and geoenvironmental assessments

    Groundwater and ground gas monitoring

    Preparing factual and interpretive reports

    Liaising with clients, contractors and internal technical teams

    Supporting validation and verification activities where required

    Requirements

    Degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline

    Previous site investigation, geotechnical or geoenvironmental experience preferred

    Strong communication and report-writing skills

    Full UK driving licence

    Full right to work in the UK

    Must live in or near the Wolverhampton office
