How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Stairlift Engineer to join our friendly, growing team. You’ll carry out Stairlift installations, routine servicing and respond to breakdowns, playing a hands-on role in keeping our customers mobile and independent in their own homes.

    The ideal candidate will have good electrical knowledge, a practical mindset and experience in independently repairing equipment. While experience within the stairlift industry is desirable, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.

    This is a field-based role requiring a strong technical ability, excellent communication skills and compassionate approach when working in customers’ homes.

    We take the safety and wellbeing of our customers seriously; therefore, this role is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

    About Us

    Norfolk Stairlifts is a successful, long-established, family-run provider of stairlifts and home lifts throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. We pride ourselves on delivering the best stairlift and access solutions that are tailored to suit our customers needs.

    Due to continued growth, we are looking to welcome an enthusiastic, skilled and hardworking individual to our friendly and supportive team.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Installation of Stairlifts

    * Carry out workshopbased repairs

    * Prepare equipment and assist with general warehouse duties

    * Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on Stairlifts and Home lifts

    * Diagnose faults and complete breakdown callouts efficiently

    * Participate in an oncall rota (approximately 1 week in every 4) to cover emergency breakdowns

    * Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times

    * Accurately complete all documentation, including service reports and job sheets

    * Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and industry regulations

    Requirements

    * Full UK driving licence (essential)

    * Proven experience in independent equipment repair with strong electrical knowledge

    * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

    * Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

    * A practical, handson approach with willingness to learn

    * Flexible, reliable and positive attitude

    * Excellent communication and customer service skills

    What We Offer

    * Company vehicle, tools and uniform provided

    * Competitive salary, with overtime paid for additional hours

    * Company mobile phone

    * Ongoing inhouse and manufacture training

    * Supportive and friendly working environment

    * The chance to make a meaningful difference to customers’ independence and quality of life

    How To Apply

    If you are a motivated engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and enjoys helping people, we would love to hear from you
