How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Redditch Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-Time Maternity Cover Salary: Up to £170 per day

    About the Role

    Empowering Learning is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Redditch seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join their team from September 2026 to cover a maternity leave.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to take responsibility for a well-established Year 5 class. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons that support pupils' academic progress and personal development throughout the academic year.

    The school is looking for a teacher who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents while maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour.

The leadership team is highly supportive, and staff work collaboratively to deliver a broad and engaging curriculum.

    The successful candidate will join a dedicated Key Stage 2 team and benefit from excellent support throughout the duration of the maternity cover.

    Candidate Requirements

    The ideal candidate will:

    * Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    * Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
    * Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills
    * Be confident planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum
    * Be committed to raising attainment and supporting pupil progress
    * Have excellent communication and organisational skills
    * Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
