How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The role

    We are looking for self-employed Electrical Process Electricians and/or Process Installation Engineers to support our client with a strong pipeline of new and existing business throughout 2026 and 2027.

    Our client is a Shropshire based business established two years ago, already successful and profitable. They are moving into their next period of growth and have a strong order book. They are looking for a pool of reputable contractors to ensure they are able to deliver the installation of electrical process control panels predominantly within the food manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.

    A willingness to learn, positive attitude, great communication skills and reliability are all qualities that are required for these roles.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for additional work during otherwise quiet times or who is looking to develop new sub-contractor relationships.

    Responsibilities

    * Installation of electrical process control panels

    * Maintenance and modification of control panels

    * UK travel and some overnight stays

    Candidate requirements

    * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline (essential)

    * ECS Gold Card (essential)

    * An electrical engineering qualification is beneficial

    * Experience working as an Industrial Electrician/Process Electrician

    * A focus on electrical process installation is beneficial

    * Experience of wiring up valves and pumps

    * Experience of commercial and industrial electrical work

    * Happy to be away from home and travel across the UK

    * Clean UK driving licence (or equivalent)

    * Own vehicle (essential)

    * Own tools (essential)

    * Excellent communication skills

    * Be a great ambassador for the business ensuring their reputation is maintained

    Benefits and reward package

    * Hourly rate between £20 and £25 per hour depending on experience and expertise – payment is made via CIS

    * Accommodation and travel expenses covered by our client (subject to prior agreement)
