How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism and helping them to thrive in a primary school environment?

Academics is recruiting for a full-time SEN Support Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brighton.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child's educational journey, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team, you will play an important role in implementing strategies that meet the individual needs of the pupil and promote their independence and progress.

    The successful candidate will:

    * Have experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or additional learning needs
    * Be patient, understanding, and adaptable in their approach
    * Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills
    * Be committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
    * Work effectively as part of a collaborative school team

    The school can offer:

    * A full-time position starting in September
    * A supportive and experienced SEN team
    * Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
    * A welcoming school community committed to inclusion
    * The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child's educational experience

This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Support Worker, or a graduate looking to gain valuable experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or other child-focused professions.

If you are passionate about supporting children with Autism and are looking for a rewarding role within a primary school setting, we would love to hear from you.

Apply today to find out more about this SEN Support Assistant opportunity in Brighton.

Academics are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants will be subject to a full face-to-face registration and an Enhanced DBS (Formerly known as CRB)
