How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Role: Secondary Teachers + Cover Supervisors.

    Location: Chesterfield.

    Contract type: Long Term contracts and Daily Supply.

    Start Date: September 2026 or opportunities available ASAP.

    The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with The Two Counties Trust and is looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable Secondary Teachers, Cover Supervisors, and Subject Specialists to support schools across the trust.

    With opportunities available both immediately and from September 2026, this is an excellent chance to work within a range of secondary school settings while gaining valuable experience and building relationships with schools across the Chesterfield area.

    We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in Maths, English, Spanish (MFL), Science, and Design Technology, as well as confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors looking for regular work.

    Your Role

    Depending on your experience and availability, you may:
    Deliver engaging lessons across your subject specialism.
    Provide high-quality classroom cover in the absence of teaching staff.
    Support students across KS3 and KS4 to achieve their full potential.
    Follow school policies and procedures to maintain a positive learning environment.
    Manage classroom behaviour effectively and confidently.
    Adapt quickly to different school settings and teaching requirements.
    Build positive relationships with students and staff.
    What We're Looking For

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for teaching roles, or relevant classroom experience for Cover Supervisor positions.
    Experience working within secondary education.
    Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
    The ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
    Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
    Right to work in the UK.
