How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major infrastructure, commercial, industrial, residential, and reinforced concrete frame projects across the UK.

The company is known for delivering complex groundworks and structural packages for some of the country's leading developers and contractors, with a focus on quality, safety, and technical excellence.

This opportunity is based on a major £30 million groundworks and RC frame package in Bristol and offers long-term work for the successful candidate.

    The Role

As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the project, taking responsibility for setting out, surveying, quality assurance, and technical support across both the groundworks and structural frame elements.

You will work closely with site management, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure works are completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with programme requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working on large-scale projects and wants to be involved in all stages of construction from groundworks through to frame delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

Carrying out all setting out duties across groundworks and RC frame works
Setting out foundations, pile caps, ground beams, drainage, roads, slabs, columns, and structural elements
Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
Managing quality assurance processes and inspection records
Reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications
Supporting site management teams with technical queries and engineering solutions
Monitoring line, level, and dimensional control across the project
Coordinating with subcontractors and ensuring works are completed to specification
Conducting surveys and assisting with progress reporting where required

    Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer on groundworks, civils, or RC frame projects
Strong understanding of setting out and surveying procedures
Experience working on large commercial, residential, or infrastructure schemes
Ability to work independently and manage engineering responsibilities on site
    Strong communication and organisational skills

    Essential Qualifications

    CSCS Card

    Equipment

Survey equipment can be supplied if required, with rates adjusted accordingly. Candidates with their own kit are also encouraged to apply.

    What’s on Offer

Long-term project with excellent continuity of work
Major £30 million groundworks and RC frame package
    Competitive day rate
    Immediate start available
Opportunity to work with a highly respected specialist contractor on a flagship development
    Salary description

    £300.00 - £360.00 per day
