How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Derbys
    Salary: £100 - £110 per day
    Contract: Full-time | Long-Term to Permanent
    Start Date: Immediate Start Available

You’re the positive influence. The steady mentor. The person who helps young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and engage positively with their education.

We are working in partnership with a thriving Alternative Provision Secondary School in Derby City Centre, which is seeking a dedicated Behaviour and Intervention Officer to support Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact by delivering targeted interventions that promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and academic success.

    The Role:

Lead and coordinate intervention strategies within a designated Learning Hub for KS3 students
Deliver structured 1:1 and small group interventions focused on behavioural, emotional, and social development
Support students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges in a nurturing and consistent manner
Develop and manage behaviour and emotional support plans, monitoring progress and adapting interventions where required
Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and teaching staff to implement positive behaviour strategies across the school
Build strong, trusting relationships that encourage student engagement, resilience, and personal growth

    We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs, particularly within Key Stage 3
Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
Is confident, proactive, empathetic, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
Holds a qualification in Education, Psychology, Behaviour Support, Youth Work, or a related field (desirable)
Is competent using ICT systems to track, record, and evaluate intervention outcomes
Has a strong understanding of restorative practices and therapeutic approaches

    What you’ll get:

Long-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent position
Competitive daily rate of £100 - £110, depending on experience
The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives and educational journeys
Supportive leadership team and collaborative school environment
Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Dedicated support from an experienced recruitment consultant throughout your placement
You’re not just supporting behaviour—you’re helping young people develop the skills, confidence, and emotional resilience they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
