How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Science Teacher (Secondary School)
    Location: Chelmsford, Essex
    Start Date: September 2026
    Contract: Full-time, Permanent (part-time considered)
    Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

    About the Role
    We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Science Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive secondary school in Chelmsford from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach at Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.
    You will join a well-resourced and collaborative Science department dedicated to delivering high-quality teaching and fostering a love of science in every student.

    Key Responsibilities
    · Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons
    · Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stage 3 and 4
    · Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
    · Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
    · Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
    · Support students academic and personal development

    The Ideal Candidate Will:
    · Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    · Have a strong subject knowledge in Science
    · Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills
    · Be passionate about teaching and learning
    · Be committed to achieving high standards and student outcomes
    · Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team
