How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Engineering Manager – UK North Sea (Aberdeen)

    Limited Company Contract | Approx. 2‑Year Duration

    Our client, a well‑established oil and gas consultancy, is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multi‑disciplined design engineering teams supporting exploration and production activities across the UK North Sea. The organisation is recognised for delivering lean, technology‑driven engineering solutions to operators within this mature and demanding sector.

    Role Overview

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, coordination, and technical oversight of multi‑discipline engineering design activities. This includes ensuring high‑quality delivery across:

    * Mechanical Engineering

    * Process Engineering

    * Instrumentation

    * Electrical Engineering

    * Structural Engineering

    * Piping

    * Technical Safety

    The role requires strong leadership capability, effective team supervision, and the ability to maintain consistent engineering standards across all work scopes.

    Key Requirements

    * Minimum 8 years’ experience managing and supervising multi‑disciplined design engineering teams within the UK North Sea oil and gas industry

    * Demonstrable background in engineering leadership, team development, and project coordination

    * Strong understanding of relevant engineering disciplines, design processes, and regulatory requirements

    * Proven client‑facing capability with the professionalism required to operate in a mature, high‑expectation environment

    * Excellent communication, organisational, and decision‑making skills

    Contract Details

    * Engagement Type: Limited company

    * Duration: Approximately 2 years, with potential for extension based on performance and project requirements

    * Location: Aberdeen

    * Eligibility: Open only to UK citizens and only to professionals with demonstrable UK North Sea experience
