The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2026
Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll be working with children aged 2–11 with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.
Responsibilities for the SEN Teaching Assistant role include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Aiding communication and classroom engagement
Supporting mobility and physical needs
Delivering personal care respectfully and sensitively
Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide a nurturing environment
What we're looking for:
Experience in working with children, particularly with those with additional needs
A compassionate and resilient nature
Confidence in providing personal care when needed
Ability to commit to the school’s full-time working hours
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Able to provide references, and proof of right to work and address
