How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a Estimator looking to take ownership of a key pre-construction role within a growing regional contractor, where you will directly influence commercial control, project handover, and business growth?

    This is an excellent opportunity to join an established building contractor where you will play a pivotal role in strengthening estimating processes, improving pricing accuracy, and supporting the continued expansion of a varied project portfolio.

    This well-established contractor delivers projects across refurbishment, insurance reinstatement, framework works, extensions, void programmes, remedial works, and public sector schemes. Due to sustained growth across multiple divisions, they are now looking to enhance their pre-construction function with an experienced Estimator.

    On offer is a varied and commercially focused role where you will price projects typically ranging from £50,000 to £500,000. You will take ownership from initial scope review through to submission and structured handover, including site surveys, drawing and specification interrogation, supplier and subcontractor quotations, and detailed Excel-based cost planning.

    This role suits an experienced Estimator from a construction background who is confident identifying risk, challenging scope, protecting margins, and ensuring delivery teams receive clear, commercially robust handovers prior to mobilisation.

    The Role

    Pricing projects from £50k - £500k
    Scope review, site surveys, supplier quotes and cost planning
    Structured handover to delivery teams to protect margin and reduce queries
    The Person

    Estimator within construction, refurbishment or frameworks
    Strong commercial awareness and Excel skills
