How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mobile Service Engineer – Metso Equipment
    📍Midlands Region | Reporting to Tamworth Branch

    McHale Plant Sales is a leading distributor of equipment for the construction, quarrying, aggregates and recycling industries across the UK and Ireland. As the UK distributor for Metso mobile crushing and screening equipment, we provide industry-leading machinery backed by expert service and technical support.

    Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Mobile Service Engineer to join our expanding service team covering the Midlands region.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working independently at customer sites. Whether your background is in construction plant, agricultural machinery, HGV/LGV, quarrying, recycling or a similar mechanical field, we'd love to hear from you.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on Metso crushing and screening equipment

    Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults

    Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance activities

    Completing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on new equipment

    Commissioning and setting up equipment at customer sites

    Providing excellent customer service and technical support

    Accurately completing service reports and related documentation

    Working safely and professionally at all times

    What We're Looking For

    Previous experience in a mechanical engineering role

    Background in plant, agricultural machinery, HGV/LGV, quarrying, recycling, powered access, forklift trucks or similar equipment

    Good mechanical fault-finding skills

    Basic hydraulic and electrical knowledge

    Strong problem-solving abilities

    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

    Full UK driving licence

    Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
