How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are recruiting an experienced and hands-on Technical Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business in Huddersfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Technical Manager who thrives on leading from the front and driving real improvements on the shop floor.

    This Technical Manager role is ideal for a practical engineer with a strong background in production, team leadership, and continuous improvement within fast-paced manufacturing environments.

    As a Technical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring plant performance, improving processes, and supporting production teams to achieve operational targets.

    This Technical Manager position offers both strategic responsibility and hands-on involvement, making it perfect for someone who enjoys being fully embedded within operations.

    The Technical Manager Role:
    Lead and manage maintenance and setter teams to maximise plant performance
    Drive process improvements and product development
    Take ownership of production issues, diagnosing and resolving efficiently
    Manage budgets, resources, and departmental performance
    Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations
    Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality standards

    What We're Looking For in a Technical Manager:
    Proven experience in a Technical Manager / Engineering Manager / Shift Manager role
    Strong background in manufacturing environments
    Hands-on engineering experience with mechanical systems & production lines
    Demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve performance
    Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities
    Experience managing budgets and resources
    A proactive and reliable Technical Manager with a hands-on approach
