How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fire Alarm Service Engineer – Data Centres

    London & South East | £40,000 - £50,000 + Overtime + Door-to-Door Travel + Company Vehicle + Bonus

    We're working with a leading Fire & Security contractor that specialises in delivering and maintaining fire alarm systems within some of the UK's most critical data centre environments.

    Due to continued growth and a strong portfolio of long-term service contracts, they're looking to recruit an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join their growing team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working on technically advanced sites and wants to be part of a business known for quality, professionalism and investing in its people.

    The Role

    As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for the planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair of fire alarm systems across a portfolio of mission-critical data centres throughout London and the South East.

    Working as part of a highly skilled engineering team, you'll ensure systems remain fully operational, compliant and performing to the highest standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems

    * Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently

    * Complete small remedial works where required

    * Accurately complete service reports and documentation

    * Liaise with clients and site management professionally

    * Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS 5839 and company procedures

    * Participate in the on-call rota

    About You

    We're looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer with a strong technical background and a proactive approach to customer service.

    Essential:

    * Experience servicing and fault-finding fire alarm systems

    * Strong knowledge of BS 5839

    * Experience working on addressable fire alarm systems

    * Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills

    * Full UK driving licence

    * Strong communication and customer-facing skills

    Desirable:

    * FIA qualifications

    * Experience working within data centres or other mission-critical environments

    * Knowledge of gas suppression systems, aspirating smoke detection or integrated life safety systems

    * ECS or CSCS card
