About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Maintenance Technician to provide weekend cover at a modern, purpose-built student accommodation in the heart of Edinburgh.
This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You'll play a key part in ensuring residents have a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment throughout the summer period.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the property is well presented, clean, and fully functional at all times
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks in line with service standards
Complete basic repairs, maintenance, and minor redecoration
Support and liaise with external contractors when required
Maintain communal areas, including regular cleaning and upkeep
Manage waste areas, ensuring bin stores are tidy and rotated properly
Conduct routine health & safety checks, including fire safety and risk assessments
Assist with legionella testing and compliance tasks
Help create and maintain a safe and secure environment for residents
About You
Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or security is desirable
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Good awareness of health & safety practices
A relevant trade qualification is an advantage, but not essential
