How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing, Process, or Production Engineer who enjoys working closely with the shop floor and making a tangible impact on efficiency, quality, and manufacturing performance.

    The Role - Manufacturing Engineer

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the manufacturing data, routings, bills of materials, work instructions, and build packs that underpin production operations and support our ERP transformation.

    Working across fabrication, machining, and assembly, you'll capture valuable shop-floor knowledge and convert it into repeatable, documented processes that improve quality, reduce waste, and drive operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities - Manufacturing Engineer

    * Develop and maintain manufacturing routings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and build packs

    * Support the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central by preparing and validating manufacturing data

    * Analyse production processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce non-value-added activities

    * Work closely with fabrication, machining, assembly, quality, planning, and engineering teams

    * Create detailed shop-floor work instructions and manufacturing documentation

    * Define assembly sequences, tooling requirements, inspection stages, and testing procedures

    * Support engineering changes and ensure manufacturing documentation remains current and controlled

    * Conduct root cause analysis on recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions

    * Develop realistic routing times to support planning and capacity management

    * Assist with make-versus-buy decisions and value engineering initiatives

    * Drive continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations

    What We're Looking For

    Essential

    * Degree, HND, Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Production Engineering

    * Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Production Engineer, or Industrial Engineer

    * Experience creating:

    * Manufacturing routings

    * Bills of Materials (BOMs)

    * Work Instructions

    * Manufacturing documentation

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T

    * Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, or mechanical assembly processes

    * Experience working within low-volume, high-mix, bespoke manufacturing environments

    * Strong organisational and project management skills

    Desirable

    * Experience supporting ERP implementations (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred)

    * Knowledge of pressure vessels, defence, aerospace, or regulated engineering sectors

    * Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen, or TPM experience

    * Root Cause Analysis techniques such as 8D, 5 Why, or Fishbone

    * Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD systems

    * Experience specifying tooling, jigs, and fixtures

    What's on Offer?

    āœ… Monday to Friday days role
    āœ… Long-term career development opportunities
    āœ… Involvement in a major ERP transformation project
    āœ… Opportunity to influence manufacturing strategy and process improvement
    āœ… Work on complex, bespoke engineering projects
    āœ… Collaborative and supportive engineering environment

    If you're a Manufacturing Engineer looking to play a key role in improving production processes and helping shape the future of a respected engineering business, we'd love to hear from you
