How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    My client is a professional property and construction consultancy providing Project Management, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Health & Safety, Design, Dispute Resolution, Fire Protection, and other associated services to a wide and varied range of clients in both the public and private sector.

    I am looking for an intermediate or project level client side OR construction side Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

    The role will involve all stages of construction projects from initial inception through to final account and life cycle management. Typically the role will involve:

    Pre-Construction

    Undertaking feasibility studies

    Performing risk and value management assessments

    Compiling tender enquiries

    Procurement

    Cost planning

    Tender analysis

    Negotiating tenders and contracts

    Construction

    Contract drafting

    Contract Administration

    Change management, assessment and instruction.

    Application and payments

    Final account negotiation

    Report writing

    The successful applicant will be provided with various training and in house experience and will be encouraged to commence the RICS APC if not already a member.

    Experience and Skills

    This role is open to assistant quantity surveyors looking for the next step up, intermediate surveyors and/or project surveyors with the following attributes:

    Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)

    Personable nature

    A desire to learn and the ability to learn quickly

    A reasonable understanding of construction methodologies and techniques

    The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

    Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    Preferably degree (or equivalent) educated (not necessarily in quantity surveying) although this is not absolutely essential

    A full clean driving licence and own vehicle
