How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an Electrical Network Design Engineer with experience designing LV and HV electrical networks within the utilities sector?

    This company is a well-established utility infrastructure provider delivering electricity, gas and water connections for residential, commercial and industrial developments across the UK. With continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to strengthen their electrical design team with the addition of an experienced Electrical Network Design Engineer.

    In this role, you will be responsible for the design of HV and LV electrical distribution networks, ensuring compliance with DNO, IDNO and industry standards. You will work closely with internal project teams, utility providers and customers to deliver technically robust and commercially viable designs from initial enquiry through to project delivery.

    The ideal candidate will have previous experience designing electrical distribution networks within an ICP, IDNO, DNO or utility consultancy environment, with a strong understanding of network design principles, approvals processes and industry standards.

    The Role:

    Designing HV and LV electrical distribution networks for residential, commercial and industrial developments
    Producing electrical calculations, network designs, drawings and supporting documentation
    Ensuring compliance with DNO, IDNO, ENA and industry standards
    Liaising with utility providers, customers and internal project teams
    Obtaining technical approvals and supporting project delivery
    Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle
    Supporting and mentoring junior members of the design team
    The Person:

    Experience designing LV and HV electrical distribution networks
    Background within an ICP, IDNO, DNO, utility contractor or consultancy environment
    Strong understanding of electrical network design standards and approvals processes
    Knowledge of substations, cable networks and utility infrastructure projects
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
