How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This role has a starting salary of £24,732 per annum based on a 18 hour working week (£49,464 FTE).

    We are excited to be hiring a new part time Senior Social Worker to join our fantastic Connect to Community (C2C) team, our new front door service for Adult Social Care. This is an exciting opportunity for people who want to support residents, carers and families while helping to embed a modern, strengths-based approach to social care.

    Your contractual base will either be Victoria Gate, Chobham Road, Woking, Surrey, GU21 6JD or The Ashford Centre, Stanwell Road, Ashford, Middlesex, TW15 3DU. Further details to be discussed at interview.

    This is a hybrid role where the expectation is a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, as well as working in locations to meet the demands of the role as required.

    About the Team

    The Connect to Community (C2C) team, creates a seamless journey for residents. Our C2C Teams act as the first point of response, providing urgent assessments, safeguarding, and support planning.

    Our operating model is designed to cut down on unnecessary bureaucracy and increase meaningful time with people in their communities, focusing on what really matters: listening, building relationships and creating solutions that work.

    About the Role

    As a Senior Social Worker in Surrey, you will bring strong experience in assessing social care needs and delivering direct interventions with some of the most complex and challenging individuals and their carers, using a strengths-based approach to promote independence, choice and control. Alongside your casework, you will supervise and support staff, work closely with Team Managers to improve processes and shape the team, and demonstrate the flexibility and resilience needed to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment.

    Shortlisting Criteria

    In order to be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following skills:

    A Social Work degree and registration with Social Work England.
    Substantial post-qualification professional experience as a social worker.
    Experience of providing professional leadership.
    Evidence of having built strong relationships and worked collaboratively with others.
    An applied knowledge of The Care Act 2014 and The Mental Capacity Act 2005 and experience of undertaking Safeguarding Enquiries as well as experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions.
    You will have experience of, and be able to provide, professional, reflective supervision, guidance and advice to less experienced social workers, including those completing ASYE and social work students.Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.
