How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Attendance Officer - Primary School, North Sheffield

    Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join a welcoming primary school in North Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and compassionate individual who is committed to improving pupil attendance and supporting families to ensure every child has the best opportunity to succeed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Monitor daily pupil attendance and make timely contact with families regarding absences.
    Maintain accurate attendance records in line with school policies and statutory procedures.
    Promote punctuality and support the development of positive attendance habits across the school community.
    Investigate unexplained absences through effective communication with parents and carers, preparing and implementing appropriate follow-up actions.
    Conduct home visits, welfare checks, and family engagement meetings to support attendance improvement and pupil wellbeing.
    Work closely with school leaders, pastoral teams, and external agencies to address attendance concerns and identify barriers to regular school attendance.
    Produce attendance reports and contribute to attendance monitoring and intervention strategies.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    Previous experience in a school attendance, pastoral, safeguarding, or administrative role.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with families.
    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    Confidence in managing sensitive conversations and maintaining confidentiality.
    A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting pupils and families.
