How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Sewing Machine Operator

    Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire
    Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour + Holiday Pay
    Contract: Minimum 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
    Hours: Likely Night Shift (To Be Discussed at Interview)
    Start Date: ASAP

    Syntech Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Sewing Machine Operator to join an innovative engineering and manufacturing business based in Harwell, Oxfordshire.

    This position would suit somebody with previous industrial sewing machine experience who enjoys hands-on production work and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products. The role focuses primarily on sewing machine operation and fabric assembly within a specialist manufacturing environment.

    Sewing Machine Operator Responsibilities

    * Operate industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently

    * Carry out sewing and assembly of specialist textile products

    * Perform overlock stitching and other sewing techniques as required

    * Follow manufacturing instructions and work orders accurately

    * Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are achieved

    * Support production targets and deadlines

    * Maintain a clean and organised work area

    * Report any machine faults or quality issues to the production team

    * Follow all health and safety procedures

    Sewing Machine Operator Requirements

    * Previous sewing machine operation experience

    * Experience using industrial sewing machines would be advantageous

    * Good attention to detail and quality standards

    * Ability to follow work instructions and manufacturing processes

    * Reliable and able to work independently when required

    * Positive attitude and willingness to learn
