How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Director of Maths – Specialist SEND School (September or January Start)
    Are you an ambitious Maths leader looking for an opportunity to shape and develop Maths provision within an outstanding specialist setting? Do you have the vision, expertise and passion to drive excellence in Mathematics for children and young people with special educational needs? This exceptional SEND school in Birmingham is seeking a dynamic and inspirational Director of Maths to join its leadership team from September or January.

    This is a unique opportunity to lead Mathematics across a highly respected specialist school that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and a range of additional learning needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an ambitious and engaging Maths curriculum that enables every pupil to make outstanding progress, regardless of their starting point.

    As Director of Maths, you will lead curriculum development, raise standards of teaching and learning, support colleagues across the school and ensure that Maths provision meets the needs of all learners.

    The Role:

    Lead and develop Mathematics provision across the school
    Design and implement an ambitious and engaging Maths curriculum
    Drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment
    Support and develop teachers across the Maths curriculum
    Monitor pupil progress and use data to inform school improvement
    Ensure Maths teaching is appropriately adapted for pupils with SEND
    Work closely with senior leaders to develop whole-school initiatives
    Promote high expectations, achievement and a love of learningThe Successful Candidate Will Have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Strong subject knowledge and a proven track record of success in Maths
    Experience leading a Maths department, faculty or whole-school Maths strategy
    A good understanding of SEND, particularly ASC and MLD
    Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
    A commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes for all learners
