How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A growing advanced manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Logistics Assistant to support its stores, production and international shipping activities. The Logistics Assistant will ensure materials are received, controlled, picked, kitted and dispatched accurately while maintaining stock accuracy above 98%.
This position combines hands-on stores work with ERP transactions, import/export documentation and coordination with couriers, freight forwarders and internal production teams. It would suit someone who is organised, practical and confident working in a busy manufacturing environment.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Receive, check, unload, book in, store, pick, pack and dispatch materials safely and accurately.
    * Replenish production areas at point of use and pick, kit and transact work orders without disrupting manufacturing flow.
    * Complete stock movements and inventory transactions using an ERP system, maintaining location accuracy above 98%.
    * Carry out daily perpetual cycle counts, investigate discrepancies and report shortages or damaged goods.
    * Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, customs paperwork and other import/export documentation.
    * Liaise with couriers, freight forwarders, suppliers and internal departments to arrange collections and deliveries.
    * Maintain FIFO controls, correct labelling, secure storage and accurate filing of packing notes, requisitions and work orders.
    * Prepare materials for external suppliers, spare-parts orders and internal requirements.
    * Support safe working, good housekeeping, 5S and continuous improvement across the stores area.
    Skills and Experience
    * Previous experience in stores, warehousing, logistics or an import/export support role.
    * Working knowledge of shipping documents, customs paperwork and freight processes is essential.
    * Accurate stock-handling and documentation skills, with strong attention to detail.
    * Confidence using Outlook, Word, Excel and a stock-control or ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics AX experience is advantageous.
    * Ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and transport partners.
    * A positive, reliable approach with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
    * Forklift licence is beneficial but not essential.
    * GCSE-level English and Maths, or equivalent, are preferred.
    Benefits
    * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
    * Private medical insurance, life insurance and company pension.
    * Flexible working hours, including an early finish on Friday.
    * EV and cycle-to-work schemes.
    * Modern, purpose-built manufacturing environment with development opportunities.
This Logistics Assistant role offers the opportunity to join a stable and expanding engineering manufacturer where accurate material control and reliable logistics directly support production performance. Apply now to be considered
