How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client, operating within the Nuclear/Defence sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Inspector on a contract basis. This role is critical to ensuring mechanical quality control (QC) inspection coverage across various fabrication and installation projects, with an emphasis on adherence to project specifications, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), and relevant mechanical codes and standards. The role requires a strong focus on maintaining traceable lifetime records.

    Purpose:

Deliver mechanical QC inspection coverage across fabrication/installation to ensure compliance to project specs, ITPs, and applicable mechanical codes/standards, with a strong focus on traceable lifetime records.

    Key Responsibilities:

Inspect mechanical installation against ITPs including pipework, supports, bolting/torque/tensioning, equipment setting, alignment checks, preservation, cleanliness, tagging, and traceability.
Verify manufacturing and fabrication documentation where applicable such as material certificates, heat numbers, weld maps, inspection reports, punch items, and test certificates.
Support pressure testing readiness through line checks, test boundaries, test pack review, and reinstatement verification.
Manage quality documentation packs ensuring accurate and timely compilation for handover.
