How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Nottingham & surrounding areas
    Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (occasional Saturday mornings as & when required)
    Pay: £17 / £18 per hour

    Multi Trades Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established engineering company who are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Fabricator / Welder to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across both workshop and site environments within the industrial and construction sectors.

    The Role

    You will be involved in a variety of engineering and fabrication tasks, including repair, installation, and modification works. Projects will vary and may include on-site servicing, welding repairs (such as handrails, skips, and shipping containers), as well as workshop-based fabrication and welding.

    This is a hands-on role requiring versatility, technical ability, and a proactive approach to work.

    Key Responsibilities

    * MIG welding in both workshop and on-site environments

    * Carrying out fabrication, installation, and repair work

    * On-site fitting and general engineering duties

    * Working with a range of workshop fabrication equipment

    * Completing work to required deadlines and quality standards

    * Communicating effectively with clients and team members

    * Working independently when required

    Requirements

    * Proven MIG welding experience (essential)

    * Strong background in fabrication (minimum 3 years preferred)

    * Experience in on-site fitting and engineering work

    * Confident using workshop fabrication tools and machinery

    * Ability to work unsupervised and manage workload effectively

    * Good customer service and communication skills

    * Full UK driving licence (essential)

    * Own transport required due to location

    * Own tools required
