How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teacher

    Location: Reading, Berkshire
    Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 (inclusive of Fringe Allowance and SEN Allowance 2)
    Additional: TLR2 available for the right candidate (dependent on experience)
    Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
    Start Date: September 2026

    The Role

    The successful candidate will:

    * Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs

    * Support pupils with a range of SEND requirements

    * Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment

    * Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and families

    * Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and target setting

    * Promote pupil confidence, independence, and wellbeing

    The Ideal Candidate

    The school is looking for someone who:

    * Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

    * Has a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs

    * Can build strong relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

    * Demonstrates excellent classroom practice and behaviour management

    * Has a nurturing and resilient approach

    * Is committed to inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people

    Experience within SEND settings would be advantageous, although teachers from mainstream backgrounds with a genuine interest in specialist education are encouraged to apply.
