How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
    Location: Trentham Lakes, Staffordshire
    Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
    Salary: £35,000 – £48,000 DOE

    Interaction Recruitment are currently working on behalf of a well-established and reputable automotive workshop to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and professional service centre that offers long-term career development within a supportive team environment.

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality servicing, repairs and diagnostics across a range of passenger and light commercial vehicles.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out routine vehicle servicing and mechanical repairs
    Diagnose faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
    Perform MOT testing where qualified
    Complete warranty repairs in line with manufacturer standards
    Conduct Vehicle Health Checks and ensure accurate documentation is completed
    Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues to meet productivity and quality targets
    Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service
    Working Hours

    Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
    Overtime available on an ad hoc basis
    Saturday mornings on a rota when required
    Candidate Requirements

    Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
    Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
    Full UK Driving Licence
    Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
    Confident communicator and effective team player
    Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality work
