How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Freelance Project Manager - Residential Development

    Location: Chinley, High Peak
    Contract Type: Freelance

    Lead the Recovery and Delivery of a Residential Development

    An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Project Manager to take the lead traditional residential development in Chinley.

    This is a housing scheme requiring strong leadership and programme management to drive the project through to successful completion.

    We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager with proven experience working for a PLC housebuilder. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of residential construction, compliance, programming, quality management, and site delivery, with the ability to assess the current position of the project, implement improvements, and drive performance across the scheme.

    The Opportunity

    As Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of the development, leading the site team and ensuring the project is completed safely, on programme, within quality expectations, and to the standards expected by the client.

    This role will suit a motivated and experienced residential professional who is comfortable managing challenging projects and has a proven track record of delivering housing developments for recognised PLC housebuilders.

    Key Responsibilities

    Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a live residential development
    Review, develop, and manage the construction programme to achieve project milestones
    Lead and support the Site Management team to ensure performance and accountability
    Coordinate all external works and oversee the completion of internal build stages
    Ensure compliance with all health and safety, environmental, and quality requirements
    Drive programme recovery where required and proactively manage project risks
    Monitor build quality and ensure works are completed to the highest standards
    Manage subcontractor performance and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
    Attend client, contractor, and project meetings as required
    Ensure accurate reporting, project documentation, and progress updates are maintained
    Work closely with commercial and technical teams to ensure efficient project delivery

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

    Proven experience as a Project Manager on residential housing developments
    Previous Project Manager experience working for a PLC housebuilder is essential
    Strong knowledge of residential construction processes and best practice
    Excellent understanding of compliance, health and safety, and quality standards
    Experience managing build programmes and driving projects to completion
    Ability to identify issues, implement solutions, and maintain project momentum
    Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
    Experience managing distressed or recovery-phase projects would be highly advantageous
    SMSTS qualification
    CSCS Black Card (Manager Level)
    First Aid at Work certification
