How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Construction Plant Parts & Stores Co-Ordinator

    Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
    Salary: £35,000 – £45,000

    The Opportunity

    NEOS Engineering are working with a well-established and growing business within the construction plant, plant hire, and engineering sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Construction Plant Parts & Stores Co-Ordinator to join their busy workshop operation based in Kesgrave, Ipswich.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in plant parts, workshop stores, construction equipment, fleet maintenance, or engineering environments who wants to play a key role supporting engineers, mechanics, and operational teams.

    Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for managing plant machinery parts, stock control, supplier relationships, PPE, and consumables to ensure equipment remains operational and downtime is kept to a minimum.

    The Role

    As the Construction Plant Parts & Stores Co-Ordinator, you will manage the day-to-day stores function, ensuring the correct parts and equipment are available when required.

    Responsibilities include:

    Managing construction plant machinery parts and workshop consumables

    Stock control, purchasing, and inventory management

    Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers

    Supporting plant engineers and workshop teams

    Managing PPE and workwear requirements

    Maintaining accurate records and stock systems

    This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands the demands of a busy plant or engineering environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage stock levels of plant machinery parts, components, and engineering supplies

    Source and order parts for heavy plant equipment and machinery

    Build relationships with suppliers to ensure availability and best value

    Identify parts requirements from engineers and maintenance teams

    Receive deliveries, check goods, and update stock records

    Maintain an organised and efficient stores area

    Complete stock checks and inventory audits

    Coordinate urgent parts requirements to minimise machine downtime

    Monitor stock usage and improve stores processes

    Manage PPE and workwear stock, issuing equipment and maintaining records

    Ensure PPE compliance and availability for employees and new starters

    About You

    We are looking for an organised and proactive individual with experience in construction plant, engineering stores, parts, or workshop environments.

    You may currently be working as:

    Construction Plant Parts Advisor

    Plant Hire Stores Co-Ordinator

    Plant Parts Controller

    Workshop Controller

    Engineering Stores Person

    Parts Administrator

    Service Co-Ordinator

    Plant Fitter with strong parts knowledge

    Essential Requirements

    Previous experience within plant parts, engineering stores, workshop stores, or stock control

    Knowledge of construction plant machinery or heavy equipment parts

    Experience ordering parts and dealing with suppliers

    Strong organisational and administration skills

    Excellent attention to detail

    Ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment

    Good communication skills

    Competent using Microsoft Excel and stock control systems

    Comfortable working within an active workshop environment

    Desirable Experience

    Background within plant hire, construction equipment, or fleet maintenance

    Knowledge of manufacturers such as JCB, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, or similar

    Experience supporting engineers, mechanics, or maintenance teams
