How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A successful food manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a 4 on 4 off rotating Days & Nights shift pattern. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a profitable, stable, and growing business that continues to invest in its people, site, and brand.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll work alongside two other Engineers on shift to ensure safety compliance, effective workload prioritisation, and consistently high production standards. You’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving processes, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

The company is open to individuals who show strong potential and have transferable skills from other sectors or roles. Some of the company’s most successful recent recruits have come from backgrounds such as domestic / commercial electrics or material processing sites.

    What’s on offer:

    Salary c£47.5k
    4 on 4 off 12-hour Days & Nights (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)
    Life Insurance
Free parking, drinks and subsidised canteen
Company contributory pension scheme (matched up to 6%)
Ideal for Engineers based in South Nottingham, North Leicestershire or Melton Mowbray
    Key responsibilities:

Lead, guide and mentor your shift team to achieve operational excellence
Deliver effective maintenance to ensure consistent, high-quality production
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime
Monitor processes and equipment, reporting variances and taking corrective action
Respond swiftly to unplanned breakdowns and maintenance events
Support engineering projects, installations, and equipment modifications
    Experience and skills required:

Qualified Maintenance Engineer with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3
Multi-skilled with both mechanical and electrical expertise (electrical bias preferred)
    Apprenticeship trained (ideally)
Proactive problem-solver who supports production and continuous improvement
Experience in food manufacturing would be advantageous
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a market-leading business that values investment in its site, technology, and employees.

    To Apply:
If you’re an experienced Maintenance Engineer — or someone with the right technical skills and motivation to develop into one — please apply now or contact Stuart Cooper for more information
