The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service & Small Works Engineer to join a well-established and growing fire and security business covering Reading, West London, and the surrounding areas. This is a field-based role responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and small works installation of fire alarm systems across a variety of commercial, healthcare, education, and public sector sites. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive team with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fire safety solutions and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems.
Diagnose and rectify faults on a range of fire detection and alarm systems.
Complete small works installations, modifications, and upgrades.
Commission fire alarm systems where required.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant British Standards and company procedures.
Produce accurate service reports and documentation.
Provide technical advice and support to customers on-site.
Participate in an on-call rota when required.Systems Experience

EMSRequirements
Previous experience working as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, Fire Alarm Installation Engineer, Fire & Security Engineer, or similar.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Good understanding of BS 5839 standards.
Experience carrying out both service and small works activities.
Full UK driving licence.
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
FIA, Zzeus (or similar) training would be advantageous, but training can be provided post-probation.Package
