How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Time-served Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent engineering qualification.

    *

Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.

    *

Multi-skilled maintenance experience across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.

    *

Ability to make effective decisions under pressure to meet operational deadlines.

    *

    Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    *

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    *

    *

    Proven fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

    *

Flexible approach with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and control systems.

    *

Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend long-term corrective actions and process improvements.

    *

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.

    *

Record maintenance activities and equipment history within the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

    *

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities in accordance with maintenance schedules and recommend improvements where appropriate.

    *

Maintain accurate spare parts records and support effective inventory management.

    *

Dismantle, inspect, repair, modify, install and reassemble machinery using technical drawings, manuals and engineering documentation.

    *

Support equipment installations, commissioning activities and continuous improvement projects.

    *

Work closely with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

    *

Contribute to achieving maintenance and production performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
