How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&E Shift Engineer | Canary Wharf | Critical Datacentre Environment | £55-58K + Paid Overtime | Continental Shift Pattern (Days & Nights)

    We are currently recruiting for M&E Shift Engineer (Mechanical Shift Engineer / Electrical Shift Engineer) to carry out planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance duties across a highly critical datacentre environment based in Canary Wharf / Docklands, East London.

    As the M&E Shift Engineer (Mechanical Shift Engineer / Electrical Shift Engineer), you will be working as part of a large, multi skilled team.

    Employment Package:

    * Role: M&E Shift Engineer (Mechanical Shift Engineer / Electrical Shift Engineer)

    * Status: Permanent, PAYE

    * Salary: £53,000 - £58,000

    * £2,000 annual bonus + £3,000 HVAP allowance.

    * Hours: Continental Shift Pattern: 3 days / 3 nights / 4 off / 4 days / 6 off / 4 nights / 4 off.

    * Paid overtime available

    * Full company employment benefits including paid holidays, private medical, private dental etc.

    Requirements:

    * Must hold an electrical or mechanical based qualification, ie: City and Guilds Electrical Installation Level 2 / City and Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3 / City and Guilds 18th edition / NVQ Level 3 (2357) / City and Guilds Plumbing Level 2/3 / City and Guilds Air Conditioning Level 2 / F-Gas ... or equivalent / similar.

    * Experience working in a maintenance position within commercial environments is advantageous but not essential.

    * Experience working in a maintenance position within critical environments (datacentre, banking, hospitals, defence environments etc) or critical systems (UPS, high voltage switching, CRAC units) is highly advantageous but not essential.
