How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client, a leading infrastructure and engineering organisation, is rapidly expanding its footprint in Ireland following a series of recent major transport and infrastructure framework awards. They are now seeking an experienced Programme Manager on a permanent contract to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of light rail, transport infrastructure, and multidisciplinary consultancy programmes.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership role at a pivotal stage of market growth, helping shape and deliver complex, high-value programmes with national significance.

    The Role

As Programme Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of programmes delivered through long-term public sector frameworks and major transport commissions, with a strong emphasis on both programme leadership and technical delivery oversight.

Lead the strategic planning and delivery of multiple concurrent programmes and projects
Provide oversight and direction on the technical delivery of infrastructure works, ensuring solutions are practical, efficient, and aligned to client requirements
Act as the key interface with public sector clients, stakeholders, and delivery partners
Manage and integrate multi-disciplinary technical teams (engineering, commercial, and project controls)
Oversee commercial strategy, programme controls, risk, and governance
Ensure high-quality engineering and consultancy outputs across all stages of project delivery
Work within and manage programmes delivered under NEC contracts, ensuring compliance, best practice, and effective contract administration
Support the mobilisation and delivery of complex transport and infrastructure schemes
Drive programme performance, reporting, and assurance processes
Contribute to framework growth, pipeline development, and long-term client relationships

    Projects & Programmes

You will play a key role across a diverse portfolio including:

Light rail and urban transport systems
    Major infrastructure and mobility programmes
Multi-disciplinary consultancy frameworks supporting national delivery
Asset management, commercial advisory, and engineering-led delivery programmes

    About You

Our client is looking for a Programme Manager with a strong blend of leadership capability and technical understanding of infrastructure delivery.
    Essential experience:

Proven track record in programme management within transport or infrastructure sectors
Strong background in the technical delivery of projects (e.g. engineering, design management, or delivery oversight)
Experience working under and managing NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)
Experience across rail, light rail, highways, or major infrastructure programmes
Demonstrable ability to manage multi-disciplinary technical teams
Strong understanding of programme governance, risk, and commercial management
Experience working with public sector clients or framework environments
    Desirable:

Experience in Irish or UK infrastructure markets
    Knowledge of framework-based delivery models
Professional accreditation (APM, PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent)
Engineering or technical background (degree-qualified or equivalent)

    Why Apply?

Join a business in high-growth mode within Ireland's infrastructure market
Work on high-profile, nationally significant transport programmes
Combine strategic programme leadership with meaningful technical delivery influence
Be part of a long-term expansion with strong pipeline visibility
Excellent career progression opportunities as the Irish business scales
If you're looking to take a leading role in shaping and delivering critical infrastructure across Ireland - both strategically and technically - we'd love to hear from you. Apply now
