Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking an NEC Supervisor to join their expanding team in Ireland. This opportunity arises from our client's involvement in several key framework appointments and major transport programmes, including rail and light rail projects. The role offers a unique chance to influence delivery from a strategic and quality assurance perspective within a consultancy-led environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertaking the formal role of NEC Supervisor (NEC3/NEC4) on behalf of the Client
Providing independent technical assurance across infrastructure projects and programmes
Monitoring works to ensure compliance with the Scope (Works Information), specifications, and design requirements
Identifying, recording, and managing defects, non-conformances, and quality issues, ensuring timely resolution
Reviewing contractor submissions, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and as-built records
Interfacing with the Project Manager, contractors, designers, and client stakeholders to support effective contract administration
Supporting NEC processes including early warnings, quality-related notifications, and compliance reporting
Maintaining robust records of inspections, audits, and assurance activities
Contributing to programme-level assurance, governance, and reporting structures
Job Requirements:
Essential experience:
Experience operating as an NEC Supervisor under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
Strong understanding of the NEC suite of contracts and their practical application
Background in transport or infrastructure projects (rail, light rail, highways or similar)
Experience in quality assurance, inspections, and technical compliance
Ability to review and interpret design documentation, specifications, and engineering standards
Comfortable working in a client-facing / consultancy-led environment
Strong communication skills and ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders
Desirable:
Experience working in a client-side or consultancy environment
Exposure to framework-based delivery models
Experience within the Irish or UK infrastructure markets
Relevant engineering or construction qualification
Membership of a professional body (or working towards)
