How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking an NEC Supervisor to join their expanding team in Ireland. This opportunity arises from our client's involvement in several key framework appointments and major transport programmes, including rail and light rail projects. The role offers a unique chance to influence delivery from a strategic and quality assurance perspective within a consultancy-led environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

Undertaking the formal role of NEC Supervisor (NEC3/NEC4) on behalf of the Client
Providing independent technical assurance across infrastructure projects and programmes
Monitoring works to ensure compliance with the Scope (Works Information), specifications, and design requirements
Identifying, recording, and managing defects, non-conformances, and quality issues, ensuring timely resolution
Reviewing contractor submissions, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and as-built records
Interfacing with the Project Manager, contractors, designers, and client stakeholders to support effective contract administration
Supporting NEC processes including early warnings, quality-related notifications, and compliance reporting
Maintaining robust records of inspections, audits, and assurance activities
Contributing to programme-level assurance, governance, and reporting structures

    Job Requirements:

    Essential experience:

Experience operating as an NEC Supervisor under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts
Strong understanding of the NEC suite of contracts and their practical application
Background in transport or infrastructure projects (rail, light rail, highways or similar)
Experience in quality assurance, inspections, and technical compliance
Ability to review and interpret design documentation, specifications, and engineering standards
    Comfortable working in a client-facing / consultancy-led environment
Strong communication skills and ability to manage relationships across multiple stakeholders
    Desirable:

Experience working in a client-side or consultancy environment
    Exposure to framework-based delivery models
Experience within the Irish or UK infrastructure markets
    Relevant engineering or construction qualification
Membership of a professional body (or working towards)

    Benefits:

Join a business in high-growth mode within Ireland's infrastructure sector
Work on major transport programmes with long-term funding visibility
Move into a client-side, advisory-led role with greater influence on project outcomes
Be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary consultancy environment
Strong opportunity for career progression as programmes move into delivery
If you're an NEC Supervisor looking to transition into, or further develop within, a client-side consultancy role supporting major infrastructure programmes, we'd be keen to hear from you. Apply now to join our client's dynamic and growing team in Ireland
