How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Project Quantity Surveyor

    Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor for a reputable construction contractor based in the midlands This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of secured work across the commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

    About the role of Project Quantity Surveyor

    As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will work closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on budget and maximise profitability.

    The Project Quantity Surveyor will be based in Corby and will oversee multiple projects across the region.

    Responsibilities for Project Quantity Surveyor

    Manage the commercial aspects of construction projects.

    Prepare and submit valuations and applications for payment.

    Produce accurate cost reports and forecasts.

    Procure and manage subcontract packages.

    Review and negotiate subcontract agreements.

    Manage variations and change control procedures.

    Identify and mitigate commercial risks.

    Prepare and agree final accounts.

    Work closely with site and project management teams to ensure successful project delivery.

    Requirements for Project Quantity Surveyor

    Previous experience working as a Project Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

    Strong understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract.

    Experience managing projects from inception through to completion.

    Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

    Strong reporting and cost management abilities.

    Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.

    Full UK driving licence.
