How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fixed term electrical apprenticeship 48 months.

    Full Time – 40 hours per week

    College attendance: Gloucestershire College (day release from October 2026)

    Closing Date: 12th July 2026

    Assessment and interviews: weeks commencing 27th July & 3rd August 2026

    Looking for a hands-on career where you can learn valuable skills while earning and gaining qualifications?

    Gloucester City Homes (GCH) is looking for an Apprentice Electrician to join our PropertyCare Electrical team.

    Working alongside experienced electricians, you’ll gain practical experience carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs and installations across our housing portfolio while completing a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to become a qualified electrician.

    What you’ll be doing

    * Supporting qualified electricians with maintenance, repairs and installations

    * Learning electrical testing, fault-finding and safe working practices

    * Working in customers’ homes and empty properties across Gloucester

    * Using tools, materials and equipment safely and responsibly

    * Developing excellent customer service and communication skills

    * Completing apprenticeship training and college-based learning

    What you’ll gain

    * Day-release study at Gloucestershire College

    Essential qualifications

    * GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade 9–3 (A*–D) or equivalent

    * Alternatively, Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Maths and Science or Technical Subject.
