How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced Maths Teacher or Maths ECT looking for a permanent role from September 2026?

    Do you have the subject knowledge and confidence to teach Mathematics across KS3 to KS5?

    Would you like to join a high-performing Maths department with a proven track record of exceptional outcomes?

    TeacherActive is working with an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school in Redbridge who are seeking a committed Maths Teacher to join its ambitious and supportive multicultural community. The school has 300 students per year group from Year 7 to Year 11 and approximately 400 students in the Sixth Form. It is highly regarded for outstanding pupil behaviour, a purposeful learning environment and a child-centred philosophy that sits at the heart of everything it does.

    The successful Maths Teacher will join a positive and high-performing Mathematics department, led by an experienced and knowledgeable Curriculum Leader who is dedicated to fostering professional growth and maintaining a supportive working environment. This permanent Maths Teacher role will involve teaching KS3 to KS5 Mathematics, although KS3 to KS4 can be considered for ECTs. Teachers a this school challenge and support their students to achieve their full potential academically and personally.

    To be considered for this role, you will:
    • Hold QTS and a PGCE, or be working towards QTS as an ECT
    • Have a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
    • Be confident teaching Mathematics across KS3, KS4 and KS5
    • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to excellent pupil outcomes
    • Be able to create a purposeful, engaging and inclusive learning environment
    • Hold UK Right to Work and show high standards of professionalism
