How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

    We are seeking an organised and assertive Production Supervisor (Sheet Metal).

    Job Description

    Setting weekly plans and targets to ensure the team meet the required daily output.
    Report daily on any issues with regards to receiving parts internally and the smooth flow of machines through the area.  
    Monitoring and control of budgets.
    Responsibility for the control of risk assessments, staff training plans and SDQCP activities.
    Maintenance and control quality levels promoting high standards throughout the team, ensuring that we continue to complete machines to the highest quality standards.
    Ensuring the communication between departments and sections results in an effective supply and smooth flow of parts.
    Ensuring Yamazaki Mazak Health, Safety and Environmental rules and procedures are implemented, and information within the department is always up to date and available to the staff.
    Promote a positive culture amongst staff by engaging them in health and safety improvements and kaizen initiatives.
    Drive continuous improvement activities.
    Drive 5S activity within your team.
    Report and update the sections KPI results.
    Manage and lead a team of technicians and operators.
    Person Specification

    Essential Criteria

    Proven leader, with deliverables in all key areas: SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People).
    Can do attitude.
    Experience working within a Supervisory role.
    Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
    Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection processes.
    Commitment to maintaining health and safety compliance in the workplace.
    Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions quickly.
    Strong decision-making skills under pressure.
    Experience in planning and scheduling production to meet deadlines.
    Ability to manage resources efficiently and reduce downtime.
    Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a team to achieve production targets.
    Skilled in handling performance issues and fostering a positive work environment.
    Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
    Desirable Criteria

    Knowledge of the workings of the Sheet Metal department
